25kV Emergency Ring Switch Replacement
June 10, 2018
Due to a high water table five (5) of the original air insulated load break switches that were part of the emergency ring system became susceptible to moisture ingress and flash over which was detrimental to the process of the facility. Ener-Phase was contracted to engineer, procure, manage, construct and commission the installation of new gas insulated dead front pad mount style switchgear that was impervious to moisture. Ener-Phase engineered modifications to the existing concrete vaults to accept the different footprint of the gas insulated switches, oversaw the construction of the removal of the old and placement of the new switches. Ener-Phase performed the acceptance testing of the new gas insulated equipment to ensure proper and safe installation was performed before energization.
